THINK FLAMINGO SUMMER TEE

To commemorate Studio Compound 3, known (lovingly) as the crack alley, the skid stop, or the oregano bungalow, we designed a shirt that would reverently carry the weight of the modern-day crucifix of suburbia: the lawn flamingo.

For we are made of stars, so is all that we synthesize. The true flamingo lives in relative obscurity, virtually never interacting with the collective human spirit. But its simulcra, the injection-molded polymer effigy of the flamingo, exists as a self-completed symbol within nearly every square mile of our suburban and semisuburban living arrangements. Why has this lifeless bird earned such a reliable spot near our hearths? We find the answer when we ask why we find ourselves sitting so close to the throne of God.
